Dance movement therapy (DMT), which falls under the larger umbrella of creative art therapy, is based upon the idea that the mind and body are inseparable. Mind and body interact, so that the change in movement will affect the total functioning. It works on unity of mind, body and spirit.
“By allowing people to express themselves through movement, dance therapy develops muscle coordination and mobility while improving self-awareness. Dance therapists are responsible for preventive cure by altering movements, retraining muscles and diagnosing movement challenges. They also assist in resolving many physical and psychological issues for those recovering from illnesses, or dealing with physical, emotional or mental challenges.”
ABOUT THE SESSION
PANDEMIC STRESS RELIEF
This session is specially curated to take the clients to a deeply restorative state through a semi-hypnotic technique. this allow full focus on the body, thereby easing of the mind and relaxation. Body catches up with awareness methods. Breathing techniques are used to create a greater ease.
A slight movement and spinal stretch shall be incorporated aiming at muscular restoration.
Towards the end of the session, Use of artwork and creativity allows expression and releases stress, where in the safe space they may find themselves sharing their stress variants, thereby creating a release plan towards their stress relief.
